Georeferencing PDF Maps for Mine Planning (Global Mapper → Deswik)

This training focuses on a practical engineering approach to working with PDF plans and maps commonly used in mining projects. In real-world conditions, engineers often receive documentation in PDF format — including scanned plans, CAD exports, and GIS maps — which are not immediately usable in mine planning software due to missing coordinate systems or poor data quality.

This course demonstrates how to:

- Convert PDF documents into usable engineering data
- Apply georeferencing using reference points
- Align plans with project coordinate systems
- Prepare data for use in Deswik and other engineering software

The focus is on practical workflows used in real mining projects, allowing engineers to quickly transform available data into actionable inputs for design, planning, and analysis.

This approach is particularly useful when original data is unavailable or when time constraints require fast and efficient solutions.
